Terziere Santa Maria
In 2025, Serena was commissioned to design and construct costumes for the Tria Turris festival in Chiusi, Tuscany. Researching garments of the mid-14th century, she developed ten historically informed designs for women, men, and children, tailored to the colors of the Terziere Santa Maria—black and deep yellow. While rooted in authenticity, the costumes were adapted for practicality, with adjustable sizing, durability, and ease of wear to suit the demands of performance. As the sole designer and seamstress, Serena oversaw every stage of the commission, from historical research and pattern drafting to sewing and finishing. The result balanced visual accuracy with functionality, creating garments that honored tradition while serving the needs of a modern festival context.
